Nashville

OERF in Nashville

Nashville

Logan had another ortho conference called OERF that was being held at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville. We decided Benson + I would tag along and make a little vacation out of it.

We drove down Wednesday afternoon after Logan was done with school. It's about a 4.5 hour drive. We switched drivers about half way and I noticed after 30 minutes of driving the time hadn't gone down at all... there was a massive wreck ahead. At the last minute, we decided to get off the road, switch drivers, and take a detour. We weaved through some beautiful backcountry Kentucky before getting back on the freeway and thankfully things were moving! Turns out a small car and a semi collided... life flight had to land on the freeway shutting things down for a while!

We finally arrived, parked, and took off on quite the hunt to locate our room. This resort is giant! 2,888 guest rooms, sooo many conference rooms, and 9 acres of beautiful indoor gardens!!

They advertise a waterpark called SoundWaves that is attached to the hotel, which is massive! I asked Logan if they gave him any wristbands when he checked in and he said no. I started googling, and it wasn't looking good... a quick phone call to the front desk confirmed the tickets were not included in our stay. To purchase a one-person pass, it would be $56 for the day! I was very sad about this.... but thankfully we found out there are other pools.

Thursday

Logan was up bright and early for a full day of presenters! Benson and I woke up slowly, went and found some breakfast, and got ready for the pool.

This kid loves the water! We checked out the indoor and outdoor pools, kiddie pool, and hot tub!

Back to the hotel for a nap. :)

Logan met us at lunch and he was an ice cube! He didn't bring a jacket and was sitting right under the AC vent. He tried staying warm by holding some warm tea! Haha. I grabbed us lunch and offered to get him a jacket, but he turned me down. After we ate, I suggested just trying one on, and sure enough we sold him! Nice reversible zip-up!

Benson and I took a little private boat tour of the property.

We went back to the room, got the baby carrier, and I took off on an epic walk! Benson fell asleep for a portion of it... by the end of the day, I had 20,000 steps in!

Logan was done for the day, so we took off to grab some dinner and cronuts. Oooh I love 5 daughters bakery!

We enjoyed a fountain show when we returned. Logan got Benson a rubber ducky when we arrived and he loved playing with it in the tub!

Friday

We ate some donuts for breakfast, made another trip out exploring and to the pool. Benson wasn't loving it as much this time, so we came back and napped!

Logan was done for the day after lunch, so we grabbed some linner with Dave + Heidi. Yummy BBQ! Of course, we had to go get more donuts!

A quick trip to the pool before Logan's awards dinner.

Benson and I wandered around with Dave and Heidi and watched Lizzie's videos when Logan got back.

Saturday

We packed up and went on a few more walks while Logan finished his last lecture. These pumpkins are so fun! This wagon has been such a great purchase.

We found a yummy pizza place to try on our way out of town! The only bad part was we are still tasting garlic...

We drove on to Paducah! We decided to split up the drive on our way home because we had a free night at a Hilton property. Benson slept, and the drive still felt like we were driving on a treadmill! One day I will get back to Paducah to see the National Quilt Museum!

Golfing, weight room, and a fire pit was a perfect way to spend our evening.

Benson was exhausted! He was out!

Sunday

We drove home first thing in the morning. Another miserable drive!! Not because of Benson, just because we were so tired!

Our cute little puppy is back at his park! What a fun trip!
