Dr. Logan Chase Carter, DMD
introducing dr. logan chase carter, dmd
It seems so crazy that it's time for this chapter of our lives to close. I really can't believe how fast the last FOUR years of our life went.
You can read these blog posts to get caught up on that:
I want to start off by saying how driven Logan is. He held rank #1 or #2 for the entire four years... and he made it look easy. He knew he wanted to be an orthodontist right off the bat, and he made it happen. He stayed busy with student government, work-study jobs, tutoring, and intramural sports. We decided early on that our relationship was always priority #1... and I can honestly say I have zero horror stories about being a neglected wife. I will always appreciate the time he took to come home and eat lunch with me every day, spend Saturdays exploring or completing house projects, and watching trash tv each night before bed. :)
Graduation was held back in Kirksville, MO this year. We were really hoping they would change their minds and hold it in St. Louis. My parents flew in on Wednesday afternoon so we could attend an awards ceremony that evening without Benny cat. :)
Thursday morning we did some last minute cleaning + packing before hitting the road! We've found it's a much better drive to go the back way instead of of I-70 to Columbia and up. Benny slept about half of the drive and we arrived in Macon!
We stopped at Koch's general store and they have made some big renovations! It was really fun to visit again and show to my mom... some how we never made it there any time she came to visit.
Next stop was Pear Tree for dinner! One of our favorite spots. We had an incredible meal + drinks! Benson was a busy bee as usual. A great time to celebrate our success!
Back in the car for the last 30 minute leg to Kirksville!! Once we arrived we hung out for a bit before my mom, benson + I went over to Hobby Lobby + Marshalls.
We found some fun finds and the boys went swimming in their matching suits!
Benny and I got ready for bed while Logan went out to meet some friends at the Dukum. Fun part about our new life!!
The next morning we woke up and got ready! Logan went before us and so we packed up and met his parents to drive over to Truman's campus.
Benson thought that the graduation ceremony would be a good time to be a little (a lot) wild. I'm not kidding when I say I literally had to rotate from boob to boob the entire time... flashing everyone to keep him quiet. While enduring an awful graduation that felt like general conference. Not my favorite experience..... :)
We went outside, took lots of pictures, and visited with some friends + family. DJ was a rockstar following Logan around to make sure he got all the shots he wanted.
A small reception was held at the IPE after... Benson finally fell asleep! We chatted while eating some finger foods and toured the campus.
We swung by our old house before we headed back to St. Louis + it was vacant. The door into the house from the garage was open so we got to go inside to check things out. It was sad... it wasn't in good condition and mold was growing all over the closet walls.
Back on the road... we stopped again in Macon at Koch's general store and ate some lunch. This is a place I wish I could visit every day! So cute and delicious. We finished out the 3-hour ride home and I hope we really never have to make that drive again. :)
Saturday we had the craziest storm roll in while we were getting ready for our graduation party! It felt like it was the middle of the night it was sooo dark!
Logan went and picked up BBQ from Salt + Smoke and some chicken fingers from Canes. We also had Russell's cake + some donuts from Donut Drive-in. It was great to have some of our friends swing by and celebrate with us. I am so proud of Logan and I can't believe it is really over.
Now it is time to relax and enjoy the next 4 weeks before we start school back up and dive into residency!
Another great recap:
