Christmas with uncle josh + aunt lizzie

When Lizzie asked if they could come visit us for Christmas it was obviously a YES! We have never had visitors, or spent a Christmas with any family since moving to Missouri for dental school. We were so excited! We also decided to do an auction as a gift exchange, so we each purchased a few real gifts and a few funny gifts. My awesome neighbors volunteered to wrap them so we wouldn't know what gift was what. They even added in some of their own! :)

Josh + Lizzie drove to Las Vegas Wednesday morning to get on their 1:30 pm direct flight to St. Louis! They arrived around 7 pm our time and we picked them up and went to Sauce on the Side! It was delicious. We finished the night off with some ice cream from Andy's!

Thursday morning we ate some biscuits and got ready for a full day of fun! Our first stop was downtown for lunch. The boys got some Sugarfire BBQ and Lizzie + I got some HiPointe burgers and grilled cheese. We headed to Turtle Sculpture Park! Josh was hilarious getting in all of the photo ops possible! Turns out there is another sculpture park closer to our house so we went and checked that out too! I was pretty impressed with Josh's fun finds. We headed home for a few hours for some naps before we were going to Grant's Farm to drive thru some Christmas Lights! The actual lights were okay. It was sooo busy! The biggest lights were the brake lights of the car in front of us.

Friday was Christmas Eve! We hung out around the house and took some fun pictures of Benny in his car at the park. We got ready and drove down to Festus for some crab at Krabby Daddy's. Super yummy!!!! We spent the rest of the night trying to solve a murder mystery game that was actually really lame!

Saturday was Christmas Day! Benny was up bright and early at 6:30 am. I figured I might as well get up and start working on cinnamon rolls and biscuits for breakfast. Benny fell back asleep with Logan which was great! Around 9:30 am we ate breakfast and it wad delicious!!

Instead of exchanging gifts we played games over the few days to earn $$ for an auction. Josh was our auctioneer. It was hilarious and so much fun!

Benny opened some presents and we got ready to go the St. Louis Aquarium! Between Rona, Pregnancy + having a baby we have done nothing in St. Louis. Having Josh + Lizzie here made us actually see some fun things! The Aquarium was a blast. Benny loved it and we will definitely be getting passes! We also rode the Ferris Wheel and got some dinner. It was a fabulous Christmas Day!

Sunday was the day our friends were supposed to go home!  Not long after we woke up, Lizzie got an email saying the flight had been delayed an hour. Not a good sign to be delayed 10 hours before it leaves. Within a few hours it was completely cancelled. Spirit rebooked them the following day to go home. We had a wonderful last day together, watched the Cheifs game, ate sweet n' sour chicken and relaxed!

We are so happy Lizzie + Josh came to play with us for a few days. They are the best, and Benny even decided Josh wasn't so bad by the end of the trip. :)
